Hand printed and hand dyed fabrics border this quilt in shades of deep greens and dark burgundy. The center is also created on dyed and printed fabric. The central figure is hand made paper over wool fleece. Further embellishments of fiber are added by hand. The quilt measures 28-1/2 inches wide by 36-1/2 inches high. The bold green and burgundy border on this quilt offsets the central fabric in light blues, greens, salmon, and golden yellow. There is a sleeve attached to the back for easy hanging. Mary Fisher has designed this original quilt with the following artist statement: "In my own mind I am vulnerable. If I disclose too much- like telling China I am HIV positive- I will suffer rejection. If I turn to speak to a friends or lover, I discover they are not there. I am moving now, perhaps rising, perhaps falling, perhaps pushed against the hands that are everywhere around me. But I am alone and this place is full of risk. This place is life."
